2005 FIM World Endurance Championship Standings Suzuki Castrol Score 137 out of Possible 145 - Kawasaki Bolliger Second - Yamaha Austria Third - 3 Brit Teams 4th, 5th, 6th... Suzuki Castrol finished the 2005 season as clear winners of the FIM World Endurance Championship. They scored 134 points, 57 more than their nearest rivals and only 11 less than the possible maximum. Their objective for next year must now be clear; to win the Suzuka 8 Hours. Kawasaki Bolliger had their best season in many years, finishing the season in second place. The Swiss team were on the podium at Assen and Oschersleben, and finished in fourth place at Albacete and Vallelunga. Third overall Yamaha Austria had a run of bad luck through the year, but ended on a high with a podium at Vallelunga. As relative newcomers to the championship they should be justifiably proud. British teams took fourth, fifth and sixth places in the standings. Yamaha Phase One Endurance were pushed all the way by rivals Kawasaki Diablo and junior team Shell Endurance Academy. There were British teams on the podium at Assen, Oschersleben and Vallelunga. Suzuki No Limits & RT were the top Italian team, in seventh place. They were also one of only three teams to score points at every race. Only sixth placed Shell Endurance Academy and championship winners Suzuki Castrol matched this record. Aprilia Motociclismo Test Team were the best placed Stocksport team and 11th overall; a great achievement for their first year in the series. 12th placed Suzuki Bridgestone Bikers Profi were top Germans in their first season as a full permanent team, and Swedes Fagersjo-el.se were 13th overall, despite running two bikes at Oschersleben and three at Vallelunga.
